Lead Hand / Team Lead Metal FabricationLocation: Mississauga, ONAs a Lead Hand you will be required to:

• Assign work details and duties to machinist.
• Communicate timelines and adhere to production goals regarding due dates and ship times.
• Provide expertise and instruct on different techniques.
• Communicate design issues and time sensitive changes.
• Inspect work in progress and ensure completed products meet required standards and deadlines.
• Interpret complex shop drawings and documents.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Other Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings, determine materials required
• Measure, cut, shape metal using appropriate tools and equipment
• Weld or bolt sections together
• Execute welding operations using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
• Inspect finished work to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
• Maintain high-quality welding equipment and tools in excellent condition.
• Verify accuracy of finished product
• Assembly to test fitment and packing for shipping
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.

Qualifications / Experience

• 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication
• Experience with custom metal fabrication, architectural finishes or trade show work is preferred
• Ability to problem solve and create unique custom work
• Artistic and creative ability
• Strong attention to detail and craftmanship.
• Ability to TIG weld
• Previous experience in a supervisory or lead hand role.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and work well with deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Availability to work occasional weekends on projects as needed
