Sales Manager Canadian LumberLocation: Quesnel, BC

West Fraser is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Sales Manager Canadian Lumber to join our Canadian Lumber Sales team in Quesnel, BC. Reporting to the Director of Canadian Lumber Sales, you will leverage your leadership, communication, and technical expertise to enhance customer relationships and drive continuous improvement.

You'll Have:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to key customers across diverse regional markets, addressing questions, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Regularly travel to client locations to evaluate processes, identify business development opportunities, and support customer needs.
  • Collaborate closely with mill personnel, suppliers, and stakeholders to optimize mill processes, enhance product quality, and minimize production costs.
  • Maintain and expand the company's technical database, monitoring industry advancements, competitor activities, and regulatory changes.
  • Partner with the Lumber Marketing Group to streamline business systems and enhance overall productivity.
  • Clearly document and communicate results, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee inventory management and monitor order files and transportation logistics to ensure timely product shipment.

You'll Do:

  • Degree in Commerce, Forestry, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Exceptional leadership, mentorship, and organizational capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills, including statistical process control and database management.
  • Previous lumber industry experience.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Familiarity with international forestry regulations and sustainability certifications.
  • Experience with Oracle EBS or JDE is an asset.

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel is required for this position for up to 8 weeks per year.
