Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Manager to join our team. Reporting directly into the Co-Founder, this role is ideal for a Senior Account Executive (or equivalent) looking to elevate their career into sales leadership. In the first year, the focus will be on excelling as an independent contributor, demonstrating exceptional sales performance, and laying the groundwork for future leadership responsibilities. After proving success, this role will transition into leading and scaling a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities

Year 1: High-Performing Independent Contributor

  • Drive and close new business opportunities to exceed individual sales targets.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads through prospecting, networking, and strategic outreach.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, product) to align sales strategies with company objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences, strengthening the companys presence in the marketplace and support lead generation.

Transition to Sales Leadership (Post Year 1)

  • Design and implement sales processes, systems, and best practices to scale the team.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of high-performing sales representatives.
  • Set team targets, monitor performance metrics, and drive accountability for achieving goals.
  • Represent the sales team in leadership discussions and contribute to strategic business decisions.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the sales organization.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences, strengthening the companys presence in the marketplace and support lead generation.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas as a Senior Account Executive or equivalent.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with a strategic mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for leadership and the ability to inspire and develop others.
  • Experience selling complex technical solutions is an asset
  • Experience in SaaS, payments, or financial accounting solutions and payment gateways is a plus.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and/or Xero is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to represent an organization at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within North America (and occasionally internationally) to attend key events, conferences, and meetings.
