The Learning & Development Lead is responsible for the full-cycle design, development, and implementation of training programs that foster employee growth, enhance organizational performance, and promote a culture of continuous learning. This role oversees all aspects of instructional design, from needs assessment to final delivery, including scripting, storyboarding, content creation, and eLearning development. The Learning & Development Lead collaborates closely with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders to create engaging, interactive, and effective training solutions that align with organizational objectives.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end instructional design process, including training needs analysis, content development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Design and develop eLearning content, ensuring interactivity and engagement using tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to develop and update curricula, ensuring training content is accurate, relevant, and aligned with key organizational processes.
  • Oversee the full development lifecycle of training content, including writing scripts, storyboarding, gathering assets, and managing third-party vendors when required.
  • Ensure training content aligns with adult learning principles and best practices in instructional design.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, measuring their impact on employee performance and business outcomes.
  • Select appropriate instructional formats, including eLearning, simulations, on-the-job training, mentoring, and workshops.
  • Drive continuous improvement of training programs by analyzing feedback from trainers and trainees.
  • Regularly review and update training materials to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in instructional design and eLearning development, particularly using Articulate Storyline, Rise, and other digital learning tools.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, curriculum development, and assessment strategies.
  • Experience with project management in training development, including scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with external vendors.
  • Proficiency in LMS administration, including content management, reporting, and troubleshooting.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with SMEs, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess training effectiveness and drive improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Learning & Development, instructional design, and eLearning development.
  • Experience in the construction industry or a related field is an asset.
