Who we need

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Packaging Engineer to support the development, testing, and optimization of packaging solutions within our dynamic manufacturing environment. You will apply your experience with corrugated packaging and other materials in the retail industry to ensure that packaging designs meet rigorous performance, sustainability, and cost requirements. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, procurement, quality, and design, you will contribute to enhancing packaging efficiency and reliability.

As our new Junior Packaging Engineer, you will:

  • Design and develop retail packaging. You will design, test, and optimize corrugated and other packaging solutions for retail displays and products. You will conduct comprehensive packaging performance tests, including drop tests, vibration tests, and compression tests, ensuring compliance with durability standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. You will work closely with Operations and commercial teams to ensure that packaging designs are both production-friendly and cost-effective. You will contribute to material selection and support sustainability initiatives, helping to develop packaging solutions that align with environmental goals.
  • Optimize processes. You will analyze and enhance packaging durability while reducing material waste. By contributing to the identification and resolution of packaging-related production issues, you will recommend effective solutions. You will collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure that packaging materials meet quality and cost expectations.
  • Drive innovation. You will partner with design and engineering teams to develop packaging that reflects branding objectives and customer requirements. You will stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and sustainability best practices, applying this knowledge to continuously improve packaging solutions.

You have:

  • The experience. You have a background in engineering, industrial design, or a related field, along with practical experience in packaging engineering. Experience in a manufacturing or retail environment is preferred. You have comprehensive knowledge of corrugated packaging materials, testing procedures, and production processes. Experience with retail merchandising displays and secondary packaging, as well as an understanding of supply chain and logistics in relation to packaging, is highly beneficial.
  • The technical skills. You are proficient in packaging design software such as SolidWorks or similar programs. You understand manufacturing processes, including die-cutting, gluing, and packaging assembly. Additionally, you are knowledgeable about ISTA testing standards and regulatory requirements for packaging compliance.
  • The problem-solving mindset. You excel at identifying and resolving packaging-related challenges. You are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. You are enthusiastic about developing your expertise in sustainability practices and eco-friendly packaging solutions.
  • The interpersonal skills. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. You are capable of fostering collaborative relationships across departments and building partnerships with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams. You are detail-oriented, committed to delivering high-quality work, and inspire the same level of dedication in those around you.
