Title System Testing/QA Specialist
Office location - Toronto, ON
Rate - $65-70/HR
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice on testing strategy, test plans, selection of testing tools, and resource identification.
- Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in both GUI and non-GUI environments.
- Execute system integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests).
- Develop test plans, test scripts, and test cases and execute them against various components.
- Collaborate with testing leads, IT leads, and project team members in analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing system support.
General Skills:
- Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts.
- Knowledge of structured methodologies for application development, design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Experience using Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools for test case development.
- Proficiency in automated test tools and version control systems across multiple platforms.
- Experience executing functional, non-functional, and system-level integration tests.
- Experience supporting and participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Familiarity with quality assurance principles, practices, tools, and structured methodologies.
- Experience in creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases, and test data for different testing phases.
- Experience in unit testing, integration testing, load testing, and performance testing.
- Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational, creativity, perseverance, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with one or more automated testing tools.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with at least one programming language.
- Experience with information retrieval packages.
- Understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
- Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) regulations and standards.
- Experience in planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems.
- Proficiency in coding automated test scripts for automated test case generation.
- Experience in testing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.
Must Have:
- 10+ years of experience with different manual testing types: Systems testing, Mobile, AODA and UAT testing (must have)
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with BRD: analyzing business requirements and creating test data requirements (must have)
- Previous experience with Driver, Vehicle and Digital Dealership Registration services in ServiceOntario web portal (must have)
- Experience with Canada Post Address module, Web Content Management and Government Payment Gateways (must have)
- Experience with statistics tools, e.g. Google Analytics and Crystal reports (must have)
