Controller Atlantic Road Construction & Paving

Atlantic Road Construction & Paving (ARCP) is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in mass excavation, drilling and blasting, pipe and underground utility, concrete placement and asphalt paving. We have seen some tremendous growth over the past several years and in order to support this growth, we are adding a Controller to our accounting team. The successful candidate will be a CPA responsible for overseeing company financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Requirements

Post secondary education in accounting with a CPA designation is required.

5+ years experience in Accounting Management or a similar role or 5+ years experience with an accounting firm.

Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems.

Highly organized, self-motivated, with a keen attention to detail.

Comfortable preparing and reviewing financial statements and other related financial reporting.

Experience establishing and monitoring accounting processes to create accurate reliable information.

High degree of computer literacy, comfortable learning new systems and processes

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage month end reporting and analysis.

Assist with year end preparation and reporting

Different level of involvement in various accounting process, Billing, AR/AP, Payroll, Capital Assets, Debt Schedules and Leases

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.

Monitor and manage company financial performance against budget and forecasts.

Prepare financial statements and reports for management.

Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction.
