The company's international operations are divided into four principal areas of activity: international freight forwarding agency, marine chartering, international projects, and air freight. Gillship Navigation is a sister company to GMI who was founded in 1981 and specializes in international freight forwarding.
This is an in-office position. Monday Friday 8:30am-5pm (flexible after training)
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage logistics export operations, including routing, transport mode selection, and pricing negotiations.
- Prepare quotes, track shipments, and keep clients informed on status or delays.
- Coordinate bookings, packaging, and necessary documentation, ensuring cost-effective delivery and compliance with regulations.
- Communicate with carriers to meet customer requirements and resolve any issues during transit.
- Provide timely, accurate responses to client inquiries and assist with issue resolution.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain high standards of service and continuous improvement.
Key Attributes:
- At least 2 years of experience in general forwarding or marine transportation.
- Experience in export documentation and managing high-volume supply chain logistics.
- Willingness to learn new skills and contribute to the growth and success of colleagues.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on total client satisfaction.
- Successful completion of the CIFFA Education Program is preferred.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and multitask in a fast-paced environment while staying organized.
