What you will do:

  • Responsible for unloading and loading trucks.
  • Packaging & unpacking all products, components, assemble sections and fill orders so they are ready for shipment.
  • Able to operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
  • Assemble containers, crates, pack goods to be shipped, and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Review orders to determine loading layout on trucks.
  • Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks, etc.
  • Plan daily shipments on our truck.
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
  • Determine method of shipment, and prepare bills of lading for shipping, invoicing, and other shipping documents when orders are picked.
  • Maintain internal record-keeping systems.
  • Call customers to arrange for delivery of orders.
  • Monthly inventory counts on conduit pipe.
  • Re-bundle damaged conduit.
  • Know safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.
  • Know proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Adhere to all Life Savings Rules, including Lock out tag/out (LOTO), machine guarding/bypassing safety controls, (PIT) powered industrials truck, safety protocols; OHSA, safety policies.
  • Adhere and follow to all other Atkore policies, such as Respect and Harassment, Workplace Violence, Free Workplace of Drug and Alcohol, etc.
  • Able to work overtime hours as per business's needs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • One to Three (1 – 3) years of experience working as a Forklift Operator, certification is preferred (training will be provided).
  • One to Three (1 – 3) years of experience as a Shipper & Receiver, in a Warehouse / Distribution Centre experience is required.
  • Ability to perform simple math including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and take measurements.
  • Ability to drive a forklift and must have a valid licence.
  • Must display very good organization and time management skills.
  • Must be able to consistently work under pressure and simultaneously prioritize multiple projects.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Able to daily use of hand-tools, standing, bending, kneeling and frequent lifting and moving of 50 lbs;

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Complete any required training.
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.

Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Understand Atkore's inventory system used for raw material and finished goods.
  • Have gained increased knowledge about general processes within the facility; how different departments interact and the workflow within each of them, how it relates to final products being shipped out each day.
  • Establish working relationships with all department colleagues and management team members.
