At Rethink, the strategy department are facilitators of the culturally relevant, exciting work to do that, we need to be category experts, advertising experts while working collaboratively with all teams. Strategy is about making choices and presenting these choices in a clear, concise way to support and sell creative. As a strategist, youll frequently collaborate with your Director to ensure alignment and excellence in strategic communications to craft strategy for the brands you work on. Youll work closely with creative and accounts to identify and frame the right problem to inspire the best solutions.

The Opportunity

As a strategist, you will conduct research and craft compelling, persuasive strategies, develop close relationships with creative teams, often working alongside a Strategy Director in client interactions.

  • Strategy & brief writing:
    • You will be expected to write clear, compelling evocative briefs and share inspiring examples, references, approaches/ways at the problem from other brands/categories; i.e., actively expanding your creative strategy repertoire.
    • Demonstrate proactivity in identifying brand opportunities.
    • You will foster strong relationships with creatives and accounts to help guide them through strategic decisions.
    • Translate business talk/jargon into plain, actionable language.

  • Research, analysis & effectivity:
    • Youll become a category expert for the clients youre working on; gaining understanding of market dynamics and key competitor strategies and activities; having a clear understanding of clients/category/brand challenges.
    • Youll be an effectiveness champion, educating clients and Rethinkers on key strategic and effectiveness principles.
    • Youll provide recommendations on research approaches that both inform creative development and measure effectiveness
    • Turn observations and data points to actionable insights; bringing a fresh, interesting perspective on what could otherwise seem trivial/generic.
    • Synthesize and simplify; identify whats most important in large swaths of information and then articulate it in a clear, simple, compelling way.
  • Creative support:
    • Youll work hand in hand with the creative team - before, during and after creative briefs - to fuel and elevate ideas that will resonate with people and embrace creative best practices across a wide range of channels.
    • Constantly curate and share inspiring examples, references and creative sparks from other brands, categories and other creative industries.
