ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior SAP Basis Administrator covering SAP solution supports, implementations, upgrades, migrations, monitoring, troubleshooting and landscape design with various SAP applications. This role will work on projects and post-production support, collaborating closely with internal HTC team (including but not limited to SAP functional and development team, IT Security and Infrastructure team, Data and Analytic Team and Business team) and external support vendor like SAP HEC to meet pre-defined SAP system SLAs and project timeline. This role would require working beyond standard hours (provide rotational on call support). The qualified individual should have 10+ years of working experience with SAP Basis administration, database and OS management, strong problem solving and self learning skills, effective communication skills, bachelors degree in computer science, information technology or related fields and SAP Basis or relevant SAP certifications.

In addition:

  • Ensure SAP system design adhere to related Home Trust policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Comply with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices, standards, and project management disciplines.
  • Knowledge of and implementation of standards regarding consumer and employee privacy of information, and industry compliance requirement
  • Provides day-to-day technical support for the SAP systems, platforms, and associated services to meet HTC defined SLAs.
  • Install and configure SAP systems including SAP applications, third-party add-ons, database, and system security.
  • Conduct SAP system upgrades, refreshes, migrations, patch installation, applies notes and DR testing.
  • Setup SAP system and application monitoring using SAP solution manager and selected tools by HTC.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, coordinate of resolution efforts, and communicate with appropriate members, provide root cause analysis, and document resolution as need.
  • Monitor systems proactively, identify system errors or potential issue and provide recommendations on fixing bugs, performance optimization, and preventing security threats.
  • Collaborate with IT and business to provide support and resolve issues in timely manner.
  • Follow HTC IT policies and procedures to manage changes, incidents, and problems, closely work with other IT team, business team, and external vendor to coordinate system change activities.
  • Coordinate and provide oversight of SAP services provider in design and delivery of services in line with HTC standards and SAP best practise.
  • Work as a project resource to execute and deliver project assignments on time.
  • Develop and maintain accurate system documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the team by sharing information, knowledge and lessons learned on regular basis.
  • Participate in system audit and provide information as required.
  • Provide 7/24/365 on-call support.
  • Act as SAP Basis expert, assist management in creating SAP technical solution strategy, design, and innovation roadmap.
  • Collaborate with project team and provide SAP technical expertise on evaluating, testing and deployment of new SAP modules, applications, or solutions.
  • Research advanced technologies in SAP Basis area and identify opportunities to improve exiting solution, provide innovation recommendation, minimize cost, or deliver effective solutions.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge and stay up-to date with the latest SAP technologies and best practices.

WHAT WE REQUIRE:

  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or a closely related field
  • 10 + years of hands-on experience with both Netweaver ABAP and Java stack including but not limit to installation, upgrade, patching, security setup, transport management, monitoring, performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with database administration particular in the context of SAP systems including the knowledge of HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, or Sybase
  • Working experience with operating systems like Linux, Windows or Unix includes knowledge of system architecture, system management, network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with setup/configure SAP Solution Manager functions like CHaRM, monitoring, Focus Build
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Data Service system management
  • Hands-on experience with SAP BTP administration
  • Good understanding of SAP system landscape design including system architecture, client/server relationships, Disaster Recovery, and system integration
  • Strong orientation to multi-tasking and able to function independently
  • Effective communication and interpersonal communication skills to work collaboratively with IT, business, and vendor
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, able to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solution in timely manner
  • Work effectively with team by contribute to a collective goal and build positive relationship
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Team)
  • Consistently demonstrates and reinforces company values
  • Knowledge of risk management practices and techniques
  • HANA database security experience is preferred
  • Regulated financial services experience is preferred
