We have an exciting opportunity to join our Team as we are actively recruiting for an Accountant responsible for performing a variety of general accounting tasks including GL entries, bank reconciliations, and supporting A/R and A/P functions. This position reports to the VP, Finance.

What we're looking for

  • Performing various month-end close activities – prepare journal entries, account reconciliations etc.
  • Accrued and Prepaid transactions
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Inventory and WIP sub ledger management and reconciliation
  • Analyze the accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or discrepancies
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies
  • Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities
  • Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets and assist with preparation for any audits, liaising with external auditors
  • Compile data and prepare a variety of reports requested by the VP Finance and CEO
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions for CenterLine Group of Companies
  • Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
  • Preparation of HST filings, Statistics Canada reports and other filings as required
  • Other assignments, duties and projects as assigned

What you need to succeed
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Knowledge of local tax concepts and ability to explain those concepts to others
  • Strong analytical skills; detail-oriented, accurate and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and diplomacy
  • Proficient with MS Excel and able to analyze and interpret data
  • Comfortable interacting with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
