The Weed Out the Risk (WOTR) Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of Springboard's cannabis digital learning initiative- the Weed Out the Risk program. The WOTR program is an interactive, harm reduction-based, educational program hosted on Springboard's Community Learning HUB which informs youth and young adults about the risk associated with driving high or being a passenger in a vehicle with a driver under the influence of cannabis. Reporting to Supervisor, Community Learning HUB, the WOTR Program Coordinator supports with: outreach and partnership development with potential WOTR facilitators and community organizations; facilitation of program orientation and training to partners to support independent program delivery; providing direct delivery to youth engaged in the Ontario public school system through partnership with schools and community organizations; and regular review and update of program materials to align with current cannabis research and legislation.

  • Direct Delivery of Program Facilitation – Work with community partners to plan direct delivery sessions of WOTR program to youth participants at Ontario educational institutions, community groups, driving schools, and other youth facilities. Employ best practices for program facilitation with youth through utilizing a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach with harm reduction as a guiding educational lens.
  • Communication and Marketing – Maintain cannabis training and presentation materials. Promote and demonstrate HUB and WOTR to potential new partners and the wider community. Collect and share compelling WOTR utilization statistics, evaluation metrics and stories.
