As the HR Generalist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting a positive workplace culture at Anderson Therapy Services while working closely with the Coordinator and the Operations team. You will be integral in developing and executing HR strategies that align with ATS mission, ensuring a supportive and compliant work environment for all employees. Your efforts will be central to fostering a culture of collaboration and engagement, driving recruitment, professional development, and employee relations.

Specific Responsibilities Will Include

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding

  • Collaborate with the Coordinator to develop and execute recruitment strategies that attract skilled clinicians and administrative professionals, ensuring alignment with ATS' mission and values.
  • Support the Ops team with the onboarding process for new team members, ensuring a smooth and welcoming introduction to ATS multidisciplinary environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local academic institutions and professional associations to ensure a steady pipeline of talent.

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Act as the primary HR contact for all ATS employees, offering guidance and support while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture that reflects ATS commitment to client-centered care.
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator to address employee concerns proactively, mediate conflicts, and provide coaching to team members and managers to maintain a high-performance team.

Policy Development and Compliance

  • Create, update, and implement HR policies tailored to the unique needs of ATS, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and alignment with clinical standards.
  • Conduct regular reviews of employee handbooks, contracts, and internal processes to reflect changes in law, industry standards, or organizational goals.
  • Lead workplace investigations and handle sensitive situations with integrity and fairness.
  • Oversee health and safety at the workplace, including facilitating Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings to ensure compliance to regulations and promote safe working practices.

Performance Management and Professional Development

  • Lead the performance review process to ensure employees are meeting ATS high standards of clinical care and service excellence.
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator to identify and implement training programs that enhance skills and support continuous professional development.
  • Provide managers with tools and strategies to maintain high-performing teams.

Payroll and Benefits Administration

  • Support payroll processes in collaboration with the finance team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for ATS growing workforce.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health and wellness programs, and act as a resource for employees navigating their options.
  • Partner with third-party providers to evaluate and enhance benefit offerings in alignment with employee needs and market trends.

HR Strategy and Reporting

  • Collaborate with ATS leadership to align HR practices with the organizations strategic goals.
  • Lead HR initiatives and projects, including those focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the support of the HR Coordinator to ensure ATS remains a welcoming and supportive workplace for all employees.
  • Develop HR metrics and analytics to monitor organizational health and identify opportunities for improvement.

What Were Looking For

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience and 3 years of HR Generalist experience, ideally in healthcare, therapy services, or a client-centered clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment laws and HR best practices, particularly in contexts involving regulated health professionals.
  • Proven ability to manage HR functions independently, balancing both strategic planning and day-to-day operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of fostering positive relationships in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience developing HR policies, managing employee relations, and supporting workplace investigations in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities of working with healthcare professionals, such as licensing, continuing education, and clinical resourcing.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll software, and the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience in implementing HR technology solutions is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, communities, and histories is an asset.
  • A passion for supporting mental health professionals and contributing to a workplace culture that prioritizes care, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
