Working as part of the management team, the Process Superintendent will carry out the process research, stabilization and improvement work geared toward optimizing and enhancing plant performance. They will also oversee the operation of our Finishing / Shipping Departments and our plant-wide reliability program. This person will report to the General Manager but, on a day-to-day basis, will work with the entire senior management team to effect positive change. It is expected that this position will, based on sound process evaluation, recommend operation maintenance and capital improvement strategies which will improve grade and production, reduce reject and additive usage, and reduce energy consumption.

You'll do:

  • Responsible for safe, high quality and low-cost production
  • Actively support the health and safety program
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
  • Set goals and standards for the department by continually reviewing policies and procedures and recommending changes as appropriate
  • Integral part of identifying maintenance priorities and assisting in scheduling and planning maintenance shutdowns
  • Work in conjunction with plant management, technical, maintenance and operations personnel to optimize plant operations and ensure continuous improvement
  • Evaluate, effect and report on positive change related to process control through the plant monitoring systems (PARCview);
  • Providing expertise to direct Reliability programs
  • Assist with capital project planning including costs, process and performance evaluations
  • Work closely with customers, plant resources and the Sales / Marketing group to ensure product consistency
  • Assist or take a leadership role in various trials, including additives, refiners, raw materials and press strategies
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Strong process and technical understanding
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Understanding of Reliability systems
  • Appreciation for Statistical Process Control
  • Proficient computer and data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of PARCview is an asset, however not essential
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the budgeting and forecasting process

Compensation Package:

  • The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
  • The yearly salary range is between 99,578 to $124,472
  • Annual bonus opportunity.
