About the Role

Bookkeeping Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to join their team. Reporting to the Team Lead, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll for a variety of clients including small businesses and not-for-profits.

The ideal candidate is someone who is self-driven, has an eye for the details, and loves to see a job through from start to finish. They will be open to learning and utilizing a variety of technology and accounting software in their day-to-day work. They will also have a desire to learn and grow, alongside a commitment to supporting clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and processing payroll.
  • Maintain accurate financial records for on average 10-20 clients.
  • Process bank and credit card transactions and prepare financial reports.
  • Generate and issue invoices, track payments, and manage outstanding accounts.
  • Manage accounts payable including creating bill payments using virtual tools
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Organize and maintain digital financial records.
  • Work closely with the Team Lead and Team Manager for training, guidance, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably supporting small businesses and not-for-profits.
  • Ability to handle and maintain accurate books for multiple clients.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based accounting and payroll software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero; Wagepoint, Pay Edge).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • A diploma in accounting or a related field is preferred but not required.
