MOSAIC is seeking a professional who can engage in and implement employer engagement and business development activities and projects to grow and enhance the programs and services for MOSAICs Employment, Language and Social Enterprise department. POSITION FUNCTION:

As the Business Development Specialist, you will utilize your strong communication and interpersonal skills to reach out to other organizations and employers in the community to build a great partnership with MOSAIC. Moreover, your market research skills will be used to capture labour market trends, which will result in identifying gaps in the existing programs and services and aligning them with the ever-changing labour market needs from clients' and employers perspectives.


Although the primary duties described outline the core work, adaptability to meeting other service needs as they emerge will be required.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct research to identify new services and programs aligning with employer and client needs while maintaining knowledge of local community and labour market trends and opportunities
Maintain a strong understanding of products and services, and innovate new ways to serve clients
Prepare documentation, presentations, and reports
Support business planning and the implementation of business development and marketing strategies for MOSAICs Employment, Language, and Social Enterprise department
Attend and represent MOSAIC at community meetings and forums at the request of the manager/director
Build and maintain awareness and profile of MOSAICs employment programs and services
Ensure the development and maintenance of systems, procedures, and practice standards for the program or project
Supports the employer relations and business development team in event planning and logistics
Develop opportunities for collaborating with partner organizations and employers, and maintain relationships with them

QUALIFICATIONS:

A post-secondary degree and/or appropriate combination of courses in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Community Studies, Education, Business Management, or a combination of training and experience related to the program, project, or service.
At least 1-2 years of experience in marketing, business development, and/or delivery of employment programs, including fee-for-service programs
Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check required
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal & in writing Strong organization and presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, various applications and platforms (e.g., Excel, Salesforce, Eventbrite)
Demonstrated business analysis and research skills
Ability to build rapport and trust with external parties, including employers and community partners
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Event planning and management experience
Flexible, organized, able to prioritize and meet deadlines
Tactful, discrete, diplomatic, patient, and adaptable
Ability to work with diverse groups with cultural awareness
Experience in developing marketing strategies
Experience working with not-for-profit, for-profit, and fee-for-service agencies/organizations, and working with immigrants and diverse populations are assets
Knowledge and proficiency in Publishing software, database software, social media platforms, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe illustrator are an asset.

The successful candidate may be permitted to work a hybrid work model (combination of in-office and remote work).

The successful candidate must be able to commute to the boundary office at 5575 Boundary Road, Vancouver.

COMPENSATION: $28.58 - $29.25 per hour
HOURS: full-time, 35 hours per week
BENEFITS:

A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
