Job Title: Agile Scrum Master
Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Agile Scrum Master to guide our teams toward successful project outcomes by facilitating Agile practices, fostering collaboration, and ensuring continuous improvement. As a Scrum Master, you will play a critical role in helping the team embrace Agile principles while driving high-performance team dynamics and smooth project delivery.
Experience Levels:
Level 1: Less than 5 years of experience in Agile Scrum Master role.
Level 2: 5 to less than 10 years of experience in Agile Scrum Master role.
Level 3: 10+ years of experience in Agile Scrum Master role or 5+ years of experience with a recognized professional certification (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster® or PMI-ACP).
Key Responsibilities:
Agile Team Facilitation:
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies, ensuring that all team members are aligned and motivated.
Foster a collaborative environment where the team is empowered to take ownership of their work and continuously improve.
Backlog Management:
Work closely with the product owner to prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and the most valuable outcomes.
Ensure that the backlog is well-maintained, with stories meeting the Definition of Ready (DoR) and prepared for the next three sprints.
Work in Progress Tracking:
Develop and maintain a Kanban board with team input to visualize work in progress and track team performance.
Monitor and manage team metrics such as Cumulative Flow Diagrams, Velocity, and Cycle Time to optimize workflow and remove blockers.
Risk and Issue Management:
Identify, track, and resolve risks, issues, and blockers in collaboration with the team, ensuring that obstacles to progress are swiftly addressed.
Project Story Map and Release Plan Development:
Collaborate with the product owner and team to create and maintain a project story map and release plan that aligns with the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and business objectives.
Team Coaching and Continuous Improvement:
Coach the team on Agile best practices, helping them to embrace a culture of continuous improvement.
Provide guidance on the adoption of Agile practices, ensuring that processes and tools are utilized to their fullest potential.
Team Culture and Collaboration:
Foster an energetic, motivated, and high-performing team culture focused on shared goals and continuous collaboration.
Encourage innovative thinking and create a “fail-safe” environment where team members feel safe to experiment and learn from failures.
Communication and Reporting:
Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to portfolio leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Provide updates on team progress and highlight areas of improvement to senior stakeholders.
Closing Activities:
Oversee closing activities for initiatives, ensuring smooth release of team resources and finalization of deliverables.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Must Have:
Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment.
Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance (must have).
Strong facilitation skills for Agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
Ability to manage and optimize team workflows using Agile methodologies.
Nice to Have:
Security Clearances – Secret or Top Secret.
Bilingual (Conversational French/English).
Experience facilitating Agile workshops.
Knowledge and experience with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) platforms.
Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP).
Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) or other relevant certifications.
Experience with Agile Development, Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile frameworks.
