Who we need

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, New Program Development, we are looking for a Project Manager, New Program Launches, to join us for a 14-month contract. As our new Project Manager, you will play a critical role in Yorkville's growth strategy, supporting the development and launch of new programs. You will manage multiple concurrent new program launch projects collaboratively with cross-functional teams, review and optimize existing program processes, develop and implement new methods, and drive continuous innovation and best practices.

This is a full-time hybrid role, working 1-2 days a week in our downtown Toronto office.

As our Project Manager, you will:

  • Own the process. You will plan and manage 4-6 concurrent launch projects, overseeing all project lifecycle phases. You will track progress, anticipate challenges, and report to leadership on the new program idea pipeline, providing detailed status updates, including project milestones, change requests, opportunities, and risks.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration. You will support and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment between stakeholders. You will facilitate collaboration across departments, proactively addressing challenges and keeping projects moving forward efficiently.
  • Manage project administration. You will oversee project plans, scope changes, contracts,, project resources, and meetings. You will ensure that all documentation—agendas, meeting notes, status reports, and action items—is accurately maintained to support project execution and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize and implement best practices. You will develop and refine project management processes, introducing efficiencies and best practices to enhance program development, launch timelines, and overall execution. You will continuously assess and improve workflows, ensuring new program initiatives are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure strategic alignment and reporting. You will report regularly to leadership, providing insights into project status, risks, and opportunities. Your ability to translate complex project details into clear, data-driven updates will help drive decision-making at the executive level.
  • Champion a positive and inclusive culture. You will contribute to a collaborative, equity-driven environment where all team members can grow, thrive, and contribute to impactful projects. As our Project Manager, New Program Development, you bring:

  • The experience. You have successfully managed multiple complex projects concurrently from end to end in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You excel in project, resource, and change management, demonstrating the ability to navigate complexity and drive results. You take a solution-oriented, proactive approach, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. You are disciplined and decisive, capable of taking ownership and making informed decisions to keep projects on track. Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet and MS Project is preferred, and a PMP designation an asset
  • The knowledge. You understand the intricacies of university structures and the respect due to field experts and academic leaders. You have the confidence and maturity to collaborate with senior stakeholders while ensuring project success. Your experience in government relations or a regulated industry allows you to navigate approval processes, interpret regulations, and manage compliance requirements for private, for-profit universities. Your MS Office skills(PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams) enable you to work efficiently across projects and teams.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You can create clear documentation, deliver compelling presentations, and confidently lead meetings with 30+ participants—onsite, online, or over the phone. You are a strong relationship builder, maintaining open and effective lines of communication with internal teams and external partners. You excel in providing feedback, resolving conflicts, and negotiating solutions that align with organizational goals. You are comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from C-suite executives and academic leaders to students, staff, and government representatives.
