Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is seeking an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager to lead our sales efforts and strengthen our market presence. Black Rock Oceanfront Resort, set on the stunning West Coast of Vancouver Island in the traditional territory of the Yuulu?il?ath? Ucluelet First Nation, is an independent luxury resort with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership: Direct and lead all sales initiatives for the resort, focusing on all revenue streams, including group bookings, individual reservations, and event sales.
  • Business Development: Continuously seek ways to develop and expand business opportunities across all channels, identifying and pursuing new revenue streams.
  • Analytics: Utilize analytical tools to monitor and evaluate the success of sales and marketing efforts, adjusting strategies to maximize effectiveness.
  • Website & Digital Presence: Collaborate with service providers to manage the resort's website design, content, and performance analytics to ensure a compelling and user-friendly online presence.
  • Online Distribution Strategy: Develop and manage a profitable strategy for online distribution channels and direct reservation leads.
  • Social Media & Promotions: Work closely with the Social Media Coordinator to create and promote special offers, ensuring the BROR brand message is consistently communicated across all platforms.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all marketing materials, artwork, and correspondence adhere to Black Rock Oceanfront Resorts brand guidelines.
  • Industry Representation: Represent Black Rock Oceanfront Resort at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions locally and in key markets to generate new leads and maintain current client relationships.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Event Manager and hotel departments to ensure effective group operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Sales and Lead Generation: Solicit and negotiate new business through various channels, including prospecting calls, networking, telemarketing, and referrals.
  • Partnerships & Networking: Build and maintain relationships with meeting planners, wedding planners, tourism partnerships, corporate clients, community groups, and trade organizations.
  • Market Analysis: Keep a close eye on competitors to ensure Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is positioned for success within the market.
  • Rate Strategy & Budgeting: Collaborate with the General Manager and Central Reservations Manager on setting yearly room rates and managing marketing expenses within budget.
  • Quality Control & Guest Satisfaction: Work regularly with the management team to ensure the quality of service meets our high standards and that guest satisfaction is consistently achieved.

We are looking for:

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in hospitality sales and marketing, preferably in a luxury resort or boutique hotel setting.
  • A proven track record of successful sales strategies and revenue growth.
  • Experience managing online distribution channels and digital marketing initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of market positioning, competitive analysis, and business development.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to close deals.
  • Strategic thinking with a focus on results and long-term growth.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in marketing and CRM software, as well as analytics tools.
