Construction Labour - ARCP

Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in mass excavation, drilling & blasting, pipeline & underground utility placement, concrete placement and asphalt paving. Our team has had tremendous growth in the last year, and we are excited to keep expanding. We are looking for several Labourers to join our team for the 2025 construction season. We have jobs for both students and those looking to work through the fall. The role will involve a significant amount of physically strenuous manual labour work while working outside in most types of weather.

Requirements:

  • Must be reliable, punctual and possess a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Able to work as a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers, ensuring all tasks are being completed in a safe and timely manner.
  • Valid class 5 drivers license and/or reliable transportation to and from various worksites in the HRM.
  • Previous experience as a labourer, general construction labour, or pipe labourer considered and asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly inspect tools and equipment daily.
  • Participate in safety conscious activities such as tailgate meetings every morning.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all rules and regulations set forward by foremen.
  • Loading and unloading construction materials.
  • Perform a large variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour.
  • Possibility of working in confined spaces such as trenches, manholes, etc.
  • Other various construction related activities as instructed
