THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Highstreet is looking for a highly motivated individual who is willing to learn and grow with a company that values culture and performance. CPA designation is mandatory for this role. Minimum 5 years experience leading a team, juggling a significant number of entities, and meeting tight deadlines is required.
Reporting to the VP, Finance and Accounting, this role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, financial analysis, and reporting. This position involves managing a team of accountants, ensuring accurate and timely financial data, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
- Develop and implement comprehensive budgets including analysis and forecasting to identify cost savings, revenue enhancement and process improvement.
- Prepare and present financial reports to management, highlighting key insights and trends.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and internal controls.
- Drive process improvements in accounting procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to accounting, as needed.

- have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and an accounting software (Acumatica is an asset)
- demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Additional requirements:
- Satisfactory criminal and credit record check.
Compensation Package:
Annual Salary: $95,000-$130,000 depending on experience
Annual Bonus: Highstreet pays an annual bonus based on company performance.A typical bonus for a Controller is approximately 28% of annual salary. Determined annually, the bonus could be more or less depending on results.
Investment Opportunity: Highstreet encourages all employees to share in our success by offering the opportunity to invest in the projects we build and operate. To encourage employee investment, Highstreet matches employee investment at 50% up to 20% of annual salary (i.e. for every $1 invested by the employee, Highstreet invests $0.50 on the employees behalf).The investment is TFSA and RRSP eligible.
