Who We're Looking For:
As an HR Coordinator at Fintel Connect, you will play a key role in administering the companys people strategy to support its growth and business objectives. You will manage key HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance, ensuring these processes align with the companys goals and values.
You will serve as a trusted resource for addressing employee inquiries, resolving workplace issues, and ensuring adherence to labour laws and company policies. Your contributions will be essential in driving the success of Fintel Connect by supporting HR functions that attract, develop, and retain top talent, while helping create a supportive and high-performance culture.
Please note: This is a fixed-term contract for 6-8 months to cover a leave of absence.
Core Responsibilities:
- Address day-to-day employee inquiries and provide support on HR-related matters.
- Ensure adherence to labour laws, company policies, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in our HRIS system.
- Help ensure that company policies are communicated clearly and consistently across the organization.
- Supports the performance review processes, including tracking performance feedback and providing related documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of HR reports and data analysis.
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment and inquiries.
- Assist with recruiting efforts, including posting job ads, conducting screens, scheduling interviews, and coordinating the hiring process.
- Support new hire onboarding by preparing documentation, conducting orientations, and ensuring a smooth integration into the company.
- Support the payroll process by collecting and verifying employee vacation and compensation data.
- Investigate employee concerns by gathering information, documenting findings, identifying root causes, and reporting insights to senior management.
- Assist in employee engagement initiatives to maintain a motivated and productive workforce.
- Administer the employee leave and return-to-work process, including vacation, sick, and family leave, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Coordinate employee training sessions and development programs to support skill growth and career advancement.
- Support the ongoing development, implementation and maintenance of company-wide Health and Safety programs to improve reliability and content. Maintain records of training participation and certifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Canada.
- High level of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive employee information with integrity.
- A strong understanding of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations and compliance.
- Experience using HRIS systems and other HR tools to manage employee data and HR processes.
- Ability to manage and resolve employee issues effectively, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Knowledge of labour laws, regulations, and HR best practices to ensure compliance across all HR activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with leaders and team members, contributing to the success of HR initiatives and the company.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, growing environment, with the ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, startup environment is a plus.
- Relevant HR certifications (e.g., CPHR, SHRM) are a plus.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residence is required.
