Job Profile: General Manager - Flora Food Group (Canada)

About the Role: Flora Food Group is seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager to lead 50 employees in our $250M Canadian market, one of the top 10 global markets for our brand. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with a proven track record in overseeing business operations, sales, and marketing, while fostering cross-functional collaboration with finance, supply chain, and R&D teams. This role is ideal for someone with experience in both "take-home" retail (GDMC) and the "away-from-home" foodservice sectors, as well as alternative trade channels.

The General Manager will be a key strategic partner in driving Flora Food Group's continued dominance in the plant-based food industry, not only in Canada but globally. As an expert communicator, you will effectively delegate responsibilities to the senior management team while driving customer collaboration at the highest levels with Canadian retailers and industry partners. Ultimately, your leadership will play a crucial role in optimizing productivity, efficiency, and growth for the business.

Key Objectives:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan that optimizes productivity and drives business growth across multiple channels.
  • Operational Excellence: Continuously review and improve organizational effectiveness through process innovation, employee development, and ensuring a motivating and high-performance work environment.
  • Growth and Expansion: Identify new business opportunities and relationships to expand market presence and increase revenue streams.
  • Team Development: Foster a culture of growth and leadership, providing feedback, coaching, and development to senior management and staff.
  • Customer Collaboration: Strengthen relationships with Canadian retailers and industry partners to drive superior customer engagement and collaborative partnerships.

Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day business operations, setting weekly performance goals and ensuring timely execution. Own the achievement of sales, profitability, and market share targets.

  • Talent Acquisition & Development: Recruit, onboard, and train high-performing employees, ensuring alignment with company objectives and high standards of performance.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage project timelines, ensuring effective task completion and goal alignment across departments.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Lead talent reviews in partnership with the People & Organization function to identify top talent, build succession plans, and strengthen organizational capability. Create an environment of transparent communication to keep all employees aligned on strategy and priorities, leading to high engagement levels.
  • Cultural Leadership: Inspire a culture of care, passion, and performance. Support the team to achieve both personal and business goals by leading with empathy, integrity, and a commitment to success.
