As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Equipment & Small Engine Mechanic to support our operations by ensuring critical tools and equipment remain in peak working condition.

The Equipment & Small Engine Mechanic plays a key role in the success of our construction operations. This hands-on role is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and optimization of equipment used across our job sites. From small engine systems to heavy-duty machinery, your expertise ensures projects move forward safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and passionate about keeping operations running smoothly with minimal downtime.

What Youll Do

Maintain, service, and repair a wide range of equipment, including small engines, diesel systems, hydraulic systems, and heavy machinery

Diagnose malfunctions and conduct troubleshooting using computerized tools and technical manuals

Perform preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life

Track, organize, and manage all tools, parts, and materials related to fleet and shop operations

Collaborate with the Fleet & Logistics Manager and Shop Foreman to align maintenance priorities with project needs

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment

Accurately document repairs, maintenance activities, and part usage for compliance and reporting purposes

Provide technical guidance to operators regarding safe equipment use and minor troubleshooting

Assist with procurement of parts and supplies as needed

Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

What You Bring to the Team

Valid G-class drivers license (required); forklift certification is an asset

Post-secondary education in a mechanical, automotive, or technical discipline

Trade certification in a relevant field (required); licensed mechanic designation is a strong asset

5+ years of experience in engine and equipment maintenance (construction/industrial sector preferred)

Advanced knowledge of 2- and 4-stroke engines, hydraulics, and diesel systems

Familiarity with WHMIS, safe shop practices, and mechanical diagnostics tools

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints

Computer literacy (SiteDocs, WorkMax, and Microsoft 365 experience is an asset)

Physically fit and able to lift/move heavy equipment and parts

Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to work independently

Positive attitude and commitment to working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
