VR Mechanicals head office is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Payroll Administrator to join our growing team! The role is primarily responsible for weekly processing of hours and expenses, focusing on accuracy and organization in all procedures.


The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high standard in their quality of work.


Payroll Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Collect and verify employee hours and expenses.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Foremen and Management to resolve all inquiries.
  • Provide detailed and comprehensive notes for any irregular submissions upon approval.
  • Update apprenticeship hours weekly to ensure accurate records and upgrades when applicable.
  • Manage payroll errors and correct issues in a promptly manor.
  • Prepare monthly Union, Employer Health Tax, WSIB and Source Deduction Remittances.
  • Manage and maintain Employee Health & Safety Records.
  • Facilitate Health & Safety Training as needed.
  • Onboarding of New Hires.
  • Produce Records of Employment when required.
  • Provide employee documents upon request including, but not limited to the following: Confirmation of Employment, summary of hours report, update employee banking details, etc.

Payroll Administrator Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
  • Knowledge of payroll software and systems (Jonas, Procore, or similar).
  • Proficient in computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient work within firm weekly deadlines.
  • Thorough investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong data processing skills.
