Key Responsibilities

Data Analytics

  • Design, standardize, and modify various reports as required by the Firm.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including senior leaders, to identify key metrics and reporting needs.
  • Analyze data with respect to key metrics, financial results, and variance analysis, noting strengths and areas of opportunity.
  • Complete ad hoc requests and special projects as required by the Firm.

Financial Reporting & Governance

  • Coordinate year-end process, including account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for annual review.
  • Calculate financial variances and report to Management as required.
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Compile Associate & Partner compensation and metrics data.
  • Assist Director of Finance with other reports, queries, etc.
  • Complete monthly calculation of Counsel payments.

Leadership & Development

  • Supervise Accounting staff, including performance reviews and professional development.
  • Act as backup of all accounting functions including billing, payables, payroll, wires, trust accounts, etc. when required.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

What You Bring

  • Experience: Graduate of a Business program with a focus in Accounting, CPA designation or willingness to complete, and 5+ years of experience in Accounting Management or similar role(s) with progressive responsibility. Knowledge of payroll considered an asset.
  • Skills: Demonstrated financial, analytical and client service skills; exceptional attention to detail and organization skills, even during periods of high volume; and the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.
  • Mindset: Critical thinker, problem solver, and motivated self-starter with a positive attitude, excited to contribute to a collaborative culture.
  • Tech Proficiency: Highly adept at using technology such as Outlook and the full Microsoft Suite, with a talent for learning new software quickly.
