JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.
- Assemble and coordinate project staff.
- Host project review meetings, take and distribute meeting minutes to stakeholders.
- Maintain an Action Register and hold project team members and stakeholders accountable for tasks and decisions.
- Lead the planning and implementation of projects.
- Define project tasks and resource requirements.
- Develop full scale project plans and complete project-specific documentation requirements.
- Manage project budget and project resource allocation.
- Plan and schedule project timelines.
- Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
- Provide direction and support to project team.
- Constantly monitor and communicate project progress to all stakeholders.
- Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
- Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
- Coordinate and report on Lessons Learned at the end of projects.
TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- Must hold or be able to obtain Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance
- Qualification in project management or equivalent; PMI Certification preferred.
- Previous experience in project managing large IT implementation projects preferred.
- Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management. Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
- Direct work experience in project management capacity.
