Job DescriptionThe House of Commons' Digital Service and Real Property is currently looking to create a pool of candidates for anticipatory staffing of the Digital Product Developer and Intermediate Digital Product Developer roles.
Join our Digital Workplace Products and Services team, where we create digital solutions for parliamentary functions. You'll work on various projects, collaborate with teams, and help enhance user experiences. Key product streams include Windows Operating Systems and all their supporting infrastructure, Microsoft Entra and Intune, End user hardware and peripherals (desktops, laptops, Microsoft Surface), automation, and printing and imaging devices.
Digital Product Developer
In this role, you'll use your technical skills to design, develop, configure, and integrate digital product components. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, updating products, testing, deployment, support, and issue resolution, all while following standards. Your role will also include providing second or third-level support. With guidance from senior developers, you'll grow in our Agile environment, collaborating with teams to ensure successful product delivery. If you're organized, a team player, and committed to standards, this role offers growth in digital initiatives.
Intermediate Digital Product Developer
As the Intermediate Digital Product Developer, you'll provide technical support for the design, deployment, and integration of digital workplace products. You'll collaborate with teams to ensure smooth product delivery and alignment with standards. Your tasks include updating and maintaining products, leading testing and deployment, and resolving issues. Your role will also include providing second or third-level support. You'll also mentor colleagues, review their work, and provide technical leadership to promote excellence within the team.
Digital Services and Real Property has a requirement of a 24/7 support model and work activities related to this role may require working irregular hours, overtime and providing on-call support to meet our operational requirements.

Education :
- Graduation from a college or technical institute in the area of information technology or other related fields, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in the field of technology.
Experience:
Digital Product Developer
Note: A student work term, co-op, or internship may also be considered as experience.
- Experience investigating, analyzing, and supporting digital products;
- Experience providing guidance and advice on IT products, programs, and issues to peers;
- Experience testing IT solutions, drafting technical documentation, and configuring digital products;
- Experience identifying and solving problems related to digital products and IT solutions.
Intermediate Digital Product Developer
- 1–3 years of experience investigating, analyzing, and supporting complex end-user computing digital products;
- Experience providing guidance, recommendations, and documentation on IT products, programs, and initiatives;
- Considerable experience collaborating across product lines to support and deliver digital solutions;
- Experience identifying and solving technical problems, as well as configuring and testing devices and software;
- Experience writing technical specifications, reviewing team deliverables, and facilitating IT discussions;
- Experience mentoring colleagues and training clients on digital products and solutions.
Assets:
- Experience working with one or more of the following products: MS Office 365, VPN's, SSO, Azure cloud services, SCEP, and Mac operating systems;
- Experience with Microsoft Intune Management;
- A strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy;
- Exceptional technical writing skills.
