Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

SUMMARY

The role of the Swamper is to assist the Operator in the completion of a screw pile installation project from beginning to end, ensuring all customer requirements are met. The Swamper reports directly to the Construction Manager to assure standards of safety and quality are consistently met and exceeded. This work includes sitting and standing for extended periods of time, travelling away from home for extended periods of time, and repetitive tasks/duties. Working conditions are also contingent on the weather.

Location: Locations vary by project. Head office is located in Acheson, AB

Travel/Accommodations: Out of town travel and accommodations will be provided, if required

JOB DUTIES

• Comply with PSC and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
• Operate skid steers/loader to unload, organize, and lay out helical screw piles and other tools and materials
• Assist the Excavator Operator with the installation of helical screw piles to ensure compliance with pile location
• Operate company vehicles and equipment according to operating manuals and legal requirements
• Complete pre and post trip inspections and correct and report all defects immediately
• Clean, lubricate, and fuel equipment
• Care for and maintain company vehicles and equipment
• Participate in ongoing hazard assessments, daily toolbox meetings, and complete safety documentation and paperwork as per company policy
• Ensure safety fences, pylons, or other safety markings are in place when required
• Complete general site housekeeping duties
• Maintain a positive public image of the company with appropriate personal conduct and by operating company vehicles and equipment in a professional and courteous manner
• May perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• 6+ months of screw pile swamping experience is preferred
• Previous experience operating skid-steers and loaders required
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• CSTS-20
• Ground Disturbance Level 2
• Must be physically able to lift 50lbs
• Able to work well in a team environment
