Requirements

BE Power Equipment Inc. is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee all financial and accounting activities for our Canada and US operations (includes multiple entities). Reporting to the Director of Finance and working closely with the CFO and the FP&A Manager, you will act as a key go-to person for any accounting matters. The role supports most aspects of the finance department. The candidate plays an important role in providing information for the continued growth of the business. What we would like to see from you:

  • Manage period end process, including review of journal entries
  • Review reconciliation of accounts on a monthly and annual basis; review of balance sheet accounts and schedules, including multiple intercompany accounts
  • Ensure integrity of GL, and identify and prevent discrepancies
  • Oversee the preparation of the monthly financial statement package and present findings to executives – including review of margins, SG&A, foreign exchange, and more
  • Analyze financial results – actual to budget/forecast, monthly, quarterly, YTD, YOY, identifying trends and recommending actions to management team
  • Participate in presenting monthly financial results to the executive team
  • Manage various Canadian and US statutory reporting requirements (federal, provincial, state and county), including estimated federal and state tax instalments
  • Heavily participate/drive year-end review engagements for both Canada and US operations, including consolidated statements
  • Assist in forecasting of income statement and balances sheet
  • Assist with annual budgeting
  • Cash flow planning involving multiple currencies (CAD, USD, EUR, RMB)
  • Review weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Review bank margining calculations and bank covenants
  • Manage monthly checklists, procedures, controls, and signoffs
  • Heavily participate in continuous improvement activities, from idea generating to implementation
  • Develop and manage financial and internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
  • Perform other reporting and ad hoc requests as required
  • Assist in annual insurance policy renewal

Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:

  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum of 4 years in Accounting Manager capacity or similar in a high volume, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team
  • ERP experience is a must; solid knowledge of Microsoft Office; excellent proficiency in Excel in particular
  • Experience in complex multi-entity and multi-currency environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and superior communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and full cycle accounting
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to multi-task
  • Organized, self-driven, reliable, analytical thinking, and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively
  • Passion for finding solutions to problems is a must; showing initiative and ownership in every aspect of the job
