Job DescriptionWhat You'll Do:
The Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Vice President, National Claims to establish Curo's baseline greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and support the development and implementation of operational changes to reduce emissions and create shared value for the organization.
Reporting to the Vice President of National Claims, the core parts of your role will be to:
- Establish Curo's baseline greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Support the planning, management, execution, and monitoring of cross-functional sustainability initiatives to drive measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with key internal business units to collect data and integrate sustainability strategies into core business operations.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for innovation, including improved processes and services; develop business cases and analyze potential climate change initiatives against defined criteria and metrics.
- Provide general support as required, including research, consultation, presentation development, and other related tasks.
- Research emerging trends and best practices in sustainability, with a focus on climate change, to drive shared value across the organization.
- Performs other duties and competencies as assigned.

This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:
- Post-secondary education and/or work experience in sustainability, climate change, sustainable insurance practices, or a related field.
- Strong data gathering, analysis skills with experience or a natural aptitude in this area is an asset.
- Skilled at gathering and synthesizing information to develop clear recommendations.
- Structured, logical approach to understanding and addressing problems, risks, opportunities, and value creation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complex topics.
- Familiarity with GHG emissions, including scope analysis, decarbonization strategies, or related concepts.
- A strong interest in environmental sustainability and an understanding of its impact on business, climate change, and the insurance sector.
- Experience managing timelines and aligning initiatives with organizational goals.
- A self-motivated problem solver with curiosity and the ability to champion innovative solutions in a complex and deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to prioritize deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively working independently or in teams.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
