The Role

As a member of the Sales team, this position interacts directly with prospective customers. You will be maintaining outbound cold calling activity and executing selective sales strategies outlined by the Director of Sales. You will also be responsible for identifying and qualifying potential new customers through various lead channels, including inbound inquiries, outbound cold calling, and referral sources. This role requires consistently meeting or exceeding daily, weekly, and monthly activity metrics while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and persistence. Success in this position will require effective communication, the ability to handle objections confidently, and a proactive approach to uncovering new sales opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively seek out new customers by following up on lead generated opportunities and/or cold calling and offering business financing solutions to small & medium-sized businesses across Canada
  • Consistently achieve or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly targets for calls, emails, and qualified opportunities created
  • Expected to complete a high number of outbound calls
  • Develop relationships with prospective customers to identify revenue opportunities
  • Respond to all/any incoming customer inquiries
  • Coordinate, negotiate and prepare applications and funding terms
  • Help develop and maintain a database of qualified leads, through referrals, telephone canvassing, cold calling, email and networking
  • Maximize all opportunities in the process of closing a sale
  • Execute the daily operational, day to day goals and priorities assigned by the Director of Sales
  • Adhere to company policies and understand procedures and concepts to of deal structure and strategy
  • Provide excellent customer service to our clients and maintain high standards

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Consultative approach to selling and comfortable with being on the phone all-day
  • Strong ability to exercise own judgement and use discretion while working independently
  • Knowledge of financial services market structures (lenders, aggregators, brokers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of maintaining information in a CRM such as Salesforce and Salesloft
  • Highly self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving goals and succeeding
  • Organized and detail-oriented with an ability to be creative in customer sales generally and qualifying leads to further analysis and consideration
  • Supervisory responsibility includes managing processes for successful lead generation of clients
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with an ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team in an agile and fast-paced environment
  • Strong written verbal and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, passionate, humorous and compassionate with a strong desire to learn

Minimum Qualifications

  • A diploma or a degree and/or a combination of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in sales, is required (2+ Years)
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English is required; proficiency in French is also preferred.
