Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and creative Senior Interior Designer with a minimum of 12 years in the field, specializing in commercial interiors and workplace design. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, capable of managing projects and inspiring creative teams to deliver innovative and functional design solutions.

Position Overview

As a Senior Interior Designer, you will lead projects from initial client interviews through to project closeout, including contributing to working drawings. This role requires the ability to lead projects and/or guide highly creative individuals, recognizing that these skill sets may differ. You will actively enhance our business both externally (client-facing) and internally (team development), aligning with our shared vision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead project teams and consultants to develop integrated, innovative, and interdisciplinary solutions to design challenges.

  • Client Engagement: Consult with clients to establish design concepts and parameters, including functionality, budget considerations, and aesthetic preferences.

  • Design Development: Generate conceptual designs using various graphic techniques and collaborate with project managers to prepare preliminary cost estimates.

  • Documentation Oversight: Guide the design team in preparing written specifications, working drawings, and construction documents, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes.

  • Stakeholder Relations: Establish and maintain trust among project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.

  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and uphold a high level of design quality within the project team.

  • Problem-Solving: Address project design issues and apply inventive solutions.

Qualifications & Key Competencies:

  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years in workplace interior design or architecture, with comprehensive experience in all project phases.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SketchUp and/or Revit, with the willingness and ability to learn the other if not already proficient.

  • Portfolio: Submission of an up-to-date portfolio demonstrating relevant experience and design expertise is required.

  • Industry Engagement: Strong presence in the market with active participation in industry events.

  • Client Relations: Proven track record of satisfied clients and a portfolio showcasing signature conceptual design work, including workplace transformation projects.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local codes, permitting processes, and the ability to design within target budgets while maintaining overall design quality.

  • Personal Attributes: Open mindset and collaborative spirit are essential.
