Are you customer service oriented with a great work ethic? Do you like to keep busy and stay organized? If so, join us as our new staff Cafeteria Attendant with open availability between the hours of 6am to 3pm, Monday to Friday. This is a permanent, full-time position!
The Cafeteria Attendant will manage the day-to-day operations of the cafeteria and kitchenettes in the Manitoba Regional Office. This includes maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, setting up and taking down equipment, stocking food and beverage stations, handling inventory, and ensuring food safety standards are met. They must have a positive attitude and be able to work independently. They must be able to work within timeline restriction.
Your contributions to the team include:
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service to coworkers in the cafeteria
- Handle and serve food in a timely and courteous manner
- Maintain a clean and sanitary cafeteria, kitchen, and kitchenettes, including dishes, equipment, counters, and floors
- Maintain food levels on the buffet and communicate with kitchen
- Maintain coffee stations in the cafeteria and in each kitchenette in the office
- Monitor food and equipment temperatures as required by health authority standards
- Receive, stock, rotate, and count inventory
- Adhere to established schedule for meal and rest periods
- Clean cafeteria area before and after operating hours
- Adhere to established dress code
- Assist with kitchen-related duties when needed
What you need to be successful:
- Minimum two years' experience working in catering or food services
- Working experience in the hospitality industry preferred
- Current certification in Food Safe Level 1
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and coworkers
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Working knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing foods on a large scale
- Ability to use and care for food preparation equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, and move food, equipment, etc. more than 40 pounds
