LaPrairie Crane, a member of LaPrairie Group of Companies, is hiring a Senior Accountant to join its team at its corporate office in Calgary, Alberta.

LaPrairie Crane is one of Canadas largest independent mobile-crane companies with fleet capabilities ranging from 5 600 tons, including all terrain, boom truck, carry deck, crawler, hydraulic truck, rough terrain, and tower cranes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in monthly close process and the preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Cash tracking and forecasting.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary financial data required for financial analysis and reporting.
• Monitor and evaluate existing processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
• Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets.
• Review, prepare and ensure payment of GST, PST and other applicable taxes.
• Other related accounting duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

• 2 to 5 + years of related experience.
• A college or university diploma/degree, majoring in finance or accounting.
• CPA designation would be an asset.
• Experience within the trucking, heavy hauling or oilfield industries a definite asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to build and maintain great relationships with managers, co-workers and owners.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
