Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our TOOLING team as a:
TOOLING ENGINEER
This position plays a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of tooling systems that are vital for our manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in our tooling operations, contributing to the overall success of Plasman's production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide recommendations and input on tooling design for all facility programs
- Responsible to complete and oversee all facility tooling follow up
- Responsible to organize, coordinate and maintain facility Tooling PM program.
- Provide support to program management group with estimating support (tonnages, cycles, gating, etc)
- Oversee tooling repairs/engineering changes & ensure timely/quality repairs are completedevelop, organize and implement efficiency improvement(s) and scrap reduction opportunities.
- Ensure that sufficient resources are available for tooling department including training, safety requirements, personnel, work instructions, procedures, and related tools
- Assist in any way to any employee, necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction
Qualifications, Skills and Experience We're Looking For
- Post secondary degree or diploma in a Tooling, Engineering, Mold Making or related field; a combination of education, training and years working experience will be considered.
- Preference to those with advanced skilled trade certification in mold design, tool making within an automotive, manufacturing environment.
- Proficient knowledge of CAD software and technical drawing interpretation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and quality assurance.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated initiative in identifying process improvements and implementing innovative solutions.
- Flexibility to adapt to new challenges and technologies in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and skill development.
