Position: Project Manager Planning & Architectural Development

Elite Developments is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in planning and architecture to lead development applications for residential and commercial projects. This role is critical in driving successful municipal approvals and ensuring a seamless transition from pre-development through to obtaining building permits.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Manage the planning and architectural development process from post-acquisition to building permit approval for residential and commercial projects.
• Planning & Approvals: Oversee municipal approval processes, including Official Plan Amendments (OPA), Zoning By-law Amendments (ZBA), Draft Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan Approval (SPA), Minor Variance (CofA), and Building Permit applications.
• Architectural Coordination: Collaborate with architects, designers, and consultants to ensure site plans and building designs align with zoning, municipal requirements, and project objectives.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects comply with local planning policies, zoning regulations, and urban design guidelines.
• Risk & Budget Management: Identify risks affecting project timelines, costs, and design quality, implementing strategies to mitigate potential challenges.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with municipal officials, planning departments, community representatives, and design teams, managing relationships and resolving project-related concerns.
• Reporting & Documentation: Provide senior management with regular updates on project progress, approvals, and key milestones while maintaining comprehensive project documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• A degree in urban planning, architecture, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of five years of experience in project management within real estate development, with a focus on planning and architectural coordination.
• Strong understanding of land-use planning, zoning regulations, site plan control, and urban design principles.
• Proven ability to manage development applications and navigate complex municipal approval processes.
• Exceptional leadership, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
• Working experience in Revit and reviewing building permit drawings is an asset.
