The Town of Tillsonburg is accepting resumes for a temporary full time Aquatics Coordinator who will be responsible for the delivery of aquatic programs at the Tillsonburg Community Centre and Lake Lisgar Water Park. They would provide daily aquatic program instruction, program support administration, maintenance and assist with staff supervision as assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor.

Hourly Rate: $29.71 - $34.76/hour
Weekly hours: 40
This is a contract position with an option to enroll in OMERS defined pension plan.

Responsibilities
- Provides daily instruction and safety supervision for all programming.
- Provides on deck supervision of Swimming Instructors, Lifeguards, Assistant Lifeguards and Instructors, and seasonal Customer Service staff, permanent and contractual staff.
- Ensures all daily MESH reports are filed and numbers are recorded for all programming.
- Keeps current in new developments in the aquatics field through professional memberships and attending conferences and workshops as assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor.
- Assists the Aquatics Supervisor with the marketing and promotion of aquatic programs through social media and maintaining facility bulletin boards.
- May perform physical activities in programs and events, to include moving, lifting, pushing, carrying equipment or supplies.
- Assists with maintaining the schedule and ensuring there is coverage for all aquatic program shifts.
- Manage XR software customer requests as required and manage waitlists to ensure maximum program participation
- Diploma in Community Recreation or other related field.
- National Lifeguard
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
- Lifesaving Instructor
- Current Advanced provincial trainer status in first aid, lifeguard training, instructor, coaching and aquatic fitness training an asset.
- Standard First Aid CPR C and AED.
- Two years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of all Lifesaving Society curriculum including the Learn to Swim Program, Patrol Program, Bronze Star Family, First Aid Programs, Swim to Survive and all advanced leadership programming.
- Reporting requirements for the Lifesaving Society for all test sheet submissions on behalf of the Town of Tillsonburg to ensure they are complete and accurate.
- All Lifesaving Society policies and procedures for implementing programming in aquatic facilities.
- Aware of safe work practices relating to job responsibilities and have a working compliance knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, legislation governing the public pools, maintaining compliance with AODA, WHMIS and Health Regulations as it relates to the work environment.
- Strong instructional leadership skills for all programming curriculum and water fitness programming.
- Facility maintenance to ensure safe and attractive facilities that comply with all provincial and federal mandates for swimming pool operations.
- Mentoring junior staff and developing instructional skills that meet the needs of our community.
- Opening and closing seasonally Lake Lisgar Waterpark.
- Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a proven focus on customer service.
- Program administration support including customer service.
- Written communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Oral communication and interpersonal skills for working with program participants and the general public.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, the internet, social media and any other related software.
- Demonstrate strong work ethic and customer service to all patrons visiting our facilities.
- Work effectively in a shared office environment with many interruptions.
- Maintain current qualification records for each employee as required by the Board of Health using the Lifesaving Society program Inside Tracker.
- Monitor pool water chemistry through testing when required.
- Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.
- Work evenings and weekends to maintain current programming.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor.
- Lift up to 80lbs.
