Job DescriptionSUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To produce products as required and continuously improve production process.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Sets up and operates engine lathes, milling machines, drill presses, air hydraulic presses, grinders, furnace, shaper, saws and other machines to construct or repair metal parts, carbon parts, tools and machines.
- Works from factory orders, prints, written specifications, sketches or verbal instructions.
- Uses all necessary machinists hand tools.
- Uses knowledge or shop mathematics, charts and tables, standard bolts, screw, threads and tapers to efficiently plan work.
- Measuring and Inspection of parts
- Utilizes knowledge or working properties of alloy steels, brass, cast iron, carbon and aluminum.
- Works to required tolerances and is responsible for quality of work produced.
- Notifies supervisor of tooling requirements.
- Grinds own tools of high speed steel, stellite or carbide.
- Keeps machines and work area clean, and in good working order.
- Makes proper job and time reports for timekeeping and tracking.
- Remains aware of safety practices and works in a safe fashion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed Machinist would be an asset, equivalent work experience would be considered
- Manual Machinist experience is required, ideally 10+ years' experience
- Ability to understand and solve technical problems or an average nature.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to sit for extend periods of time; a minimum of 2 hours.
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, shop, warehouse, or manufacturing plant.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment.
- Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, changing priorities and reassign priorities to complete assignments.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
EHS REQUIREMENTS:
- Additional duties and responsibilities will vary based upon departmental needs.
- Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements consistent with supporting the Company's goals.
- Lifting guidelines in accordance with the Manual Lifting Guidelines noted in the Safety Handbook.
- Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company's environmental performance goals.
- Complete, and actively participate in all other EHS training requirements.
Salary Range: 75,000 — 90,000 CAD
