Prime Fab, part of Triumph North and Triumph Group, is a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial wall panels and building components. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architectural/Engineering Team Leader to join our dynamic team. This is a senior-level role, ideal for a licensed professional (OAA or PEO) with a strong background in architectural and engineering leadership.

In this leadership position, the Architectural/Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the production of design drawings, working drawings, and shop drawings for the manufacturing and installation of highly detailed panelized building systems. As a licensed professional, you will lead a team of technologists, engineers, and designers, ensuring the design and manufacturing processes align with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of architectural technologists and engineers, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality outputs.
  • Design Oversight: Oversee the development of design drawings, working drawings, and shop drawings, ensuring all designs meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate the design development process with designers, sales managers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
  • Building Code Compliance: Ensure all designs are compliant with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) and National Building Code (NBC), applying your deep understanding of building regulations to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Permit Application Preparation: Ensure all design drawings are accurately converted into permit-ready working drawings and assist with the preparation of permits as required.
  • Manufacturing & Fabrication Coordination: Oversee the transfer of shop drawing information to manufacturing for programming and work closely with the manufacturing manager to ensure that all fabrication processes meet project tolerances and specifications.
  • Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Lead the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates at all stages of design and manufacturing, working with estimators to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control protocols to maintain the highest standards of design and manufacturing excellence.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, timely updates, and successful resolution of any issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation within the team, encouraging continuous improvement and the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Other Duties as Required: Perform other duties within the scope of the position as requested by management.

Technical Competencies:

  • Licensed Professional: Must be a licensed Architect (OAA) or Professional Engineer (PEO).
  • Strong in-depth knowledge of Ontario (OBC) and National (NBC) Building Codes.
  • Extensive experience in residential low-rise and medium-density wood frame construction, with a focus on panelized systems.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Small Buildings certification or equivalent is considered an asset.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Licensure (OAA or PEO) is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in architecture or engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior role.
  • Proven experience in the residential and commercial design industry, particularly with panelized building systems.

Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
  • Advanced knowledge of building performance techniques and sustainability practices.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, graphic), with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up to date with industry advancements.
