POSITION SUMMARY
Child Development Institute is seeking 8 energetic Camp Counsellors to join our dynamic Camp Wimodausis team. This is a day camp which operates out of CDI St. Clair Gardens site. Under the direction of Coordinator, SNAP West Clinical, the successful candidate will ensure that the conceptualization and delivery of CDI programs and services are consistent with the mission, values, policies, procedures, standards and priorities of the organization and are provided utilizing the SNAP® model, an evidence-based CBT program that serves children exhibiting serious behavioral, emotional and/or social challenges.
What the role is all about...
1. Support the planning, implementation and delivery of Camp programs;
2. Ensures effective implementation of specialized therapeutic programming for camp;
3. Completes necessary reports related to the camp;
4. Assists with maintaining camp budget;
5. Acts as a positive role model for children, youth, co-workers and families;
6. Performs other assigned duties as it related to the camp.
What we hope you will bring…
▪ Bachelor's level degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Counsellor: CYC diploma or degree or related/working towards;
▪ Minimum of one (1) years of direct experience with latency age children and adolescents and their families;
▪ Standard First Aid and CPR;
▪ Must have a current and valid police records check with vulnerable sector screening;
Skills, Attributes and Abilities
• Strong leadership, coaching, planning, problem-solving, communication, computer, and financial skills;
• Direct experience in a therapeutic or therapeutic recreational setting is an asset;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel;
• Excellent administrative, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
• Exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing;
• Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment in making decisions within the scope of authority of the position;
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment;
• Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful and aware manner with groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Preferred candidates will have or are working towards experience in the fields of social work, child and youth care, and/or teaching
Workplace Environment
▪ Governed by concurrent and dynamic deadlines, despite conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions;
▪ Occasional travel to other community sites;
▪ Fast-paced work environment;
▪ Frequent handling of queries and calls from managers and staff;
▪ Occasionally required to work flexible hours related to the needs of the camp.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

COMPENSATION: $ 18.62 per hour
WORK SCHEDULE: 40hrs per week
CONRACT PERIOD: June 24, 2025 to August 26, 2025
