The Role
As a key member of our team the Head Bartender is responsible for overseeing the bar operations, ensuring high levels of customer service, and leading the bartending team in providing a memorable experience for guests. This role includes managing bar inventory, developing seasonal drink menus, and maintaining high-quality standards in beverage preparation. The Head Bartender will perform all guest service duties in a professional and friendly manner, fostering a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring guests have an enjoyable dining experience.
Your contributions to the team include:
- Lead and supervise the bartending team to ensure smooth bar operations.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure proper execution by the kitchen and bar team.
- Maintain expert knowledge of liquor, wine, beer, and food offerings.
- Ensure consistency in the preparation of all menu items, including bar-specific offerings.
- Serve food and beverages in a professional, courteous manner.
- Develop and introduce new seasonal cocktails and specialty drinks.
- Manage bar inventory, including ordering, restocking, and maintaining proper stock levels.
- Ensure the bar area is kept clean and organized, including opening and closing duties.
- Train and mentor bartenders on drink preparation, service standards, and guest interactions.
- Oversee table and bar setup to meet high-quality presentation standards.
- Provide a warm welcome to guests and ensure a friendly and engaging atmosphere.
- Address and resolve any guest concerns or complaints promptly.
- Monitor and enforce responsible alcohol service in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain compliance with all food and beverage safety regulations and resort policies.
- Ensure adherence to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) standards to provide a safe work environment.
- Additional tasks and duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of progressive bartending experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.
- Serving It Right certification.
- WSET, Mixology or Bartending certification an asset.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in creating signature cocktails and seasonal beverage menus.
- Strong knowledge of drink mixing tools, techniques, and presentation standards.
- Proficiency with POS systems, such as Silverware.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
