Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Marketing Curation Coordinator for a 14-month contract, with possibility of extension up to 20 months. Reporting to the Head of Content Strategy & Brand, the Marketing Curation Coordinator provides strategic, data-driven audiobook curation for web and app platforms with the purpose of increasing KPIs related to audiobook listener behaviour.
This role will focus on organizing promotions, and driving user engagement through compelling booklists and in-app features. The Marketing Curation Coordinator will plan content for our editorial calendar, create themed booklists, and fulfill merchandising experiments that allow leadership to make data-driven decisions on strategy. Recognizing trends, curating content for different audiences, and leveraging data to understand listening patterns are all key components of this role.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for books and digital media, a strong sense of organization, and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with publishers. They will be resourceful, curious, and analytical. They will be able to differentiate content for unique audiences, run split tests and analyze results, and collaborate with our team.
What you'll do:
- Content Curation & Editorial Planning:
- Plan and execute monthly promotions, ensuring alignment with company goals and user interests.
- Create and update curated booklists tailored to audience preferences and seasonal trends.
- Develop engaging in-app sliders and other promotional materials to highlight curated selections.
- Segment content recommendations to introduce customers and prospective customers to the perfect pieces of undiscovered content personalized for them
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing publishing partners, and conduct regular meetings with publishers to discuss promotions, trends, and new releases
- Analysis & Reporting
- Design and run a variety of experiments and split tests, reporting on results
- Monitor user engagement with curated content and refine strategies based on analytics.
- Use tools like SQL and QuickSight to track and analyze content performance, user behavior, and search trends.
- Generate monthly reports on the effectiveness of promotions, content engagement, and user search patterns.
- To optimize content visibility and discoverability, utilize systems that analyze and track website and app searches.
- Research & Communication:
- Stay up-to-date with trends in the book/publishing industry and use that knowledge to keep merchandising looking fresh and current
- Research industry developments in foreign markets and develop a sense of global industry awareness
- Collaborate with our Communications Coordinator on other editorial marketing efforts, including social media, blog writing, email creation, etc.
- Work closely with cross-department marketing, product, and analytics teams to ensure content aligns with overall company goals.
What you'll need:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in marketing, merchandising, publishing, analytics, data management or related field
- An educational background in Marketing, English, Publishing, or related field
- Passionate about books of all types, and knowledgeable about the book industry
- Have the ability to interpret trends and forecast bestselling titles through immersion in data and customer focused curiosity
- Loves finding insights in customer data, and using it to customize content recommendations
- Strong copywriting skills
- Social media fluency
- Extremely well organized and detail oriented, with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Track record of success in driving engagement with customer communities preferred
- Experience in database querying with SQL preferred
- Experience in B2B relations and working with vendor partners preferred
