Drafter-Contract Position (10-12 months)

Fibergrate Composite Structures has been the Canadian leader in providing molded fiberglass grating for the commercial and industrial markets for over 50 years. We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Drafter (Contract position 10-12 months) in our Oshawa location.

What qualities do we expect from you?

We are looking for strong and capable individual to join our team. The Draftsperson is a key member of this team whose role is to ensure approval and fabrication drawings are prepared quickly and accurately. This important role provides you with an outstanding opportunity to develop or continue to develop a strong foundation.

Responsibilities:

1. Drawings – Prepare and modify approval and shop drawings in conformance with customer requirements using structural FRP components.
2. Ensure all drawings meet the current National Building Code Standards as they apply to Fibergrate activities.
3. Take ownership of drawings and approval preparations.

Skills and Attributes:

1. Proficient in AutoCAD 2D in structural, architectural and mechanical disciplines
2. 1+ years experience in the construction industry
3. Ability to read and understand specification and drawings
4. Ability to communicate effectively in English
5. Understanding of current National Building Code standards
6. Knowledge of Office 365 would be an asset
7. Able to effectively contribute in a cross functional team environment
8. Valid Ontario Driver's License.
