The ideal candidate will have experience applying construction security principles to design and optimize security strategies.
- Evaluate existing security systems and design enhancements that reduce the opportunity for crime and enhance safety. Provide recommendations for environmental design improvements such as lighting, landscaping, access control, and surveillance systems.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential risks and threats within physical spaces. Provide actionable reports and solutions to improve security effectiveness.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and facility managers to incorporate security features in the design and construction of buildings, entry points, parking areas, and external environments.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies such as CCTV, alarm systems, and access control solutions. Ensure proper integration of physical security systems to provide real-time monitoring and response capabilities.
- Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures related to physical security and access control. Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
- Train staff and stakeholders on CPTED principles and the role of environmental design in crime prevention. Conduct workshops to improve the understanding of physical security measures and their importance in maintaining a safe environment. Prepare and provide presentations to clients on specifically how to conduct Security Risk Assessments.
- Lead or participate in security-related meetings and projects.
- Analyze incidents to identify areas for improvement in security practices.
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in Construction Project Security procedures and processes within the Government of Canada environment
- Demonstrated experience initiating and implementing a security management plan
- Experience with risk management frameworks, processes and compliancy
- Experience with security risk mitigation strategies and cost effective solutions
- Experience dealing with other Consultants who specialize in construction, security, engineering and or highly complex infrastructure
- Experience and or knowledge working with Communications Security Establishment (CSE) documentation
- Holding an accredited professional certifications in 1 or more of the following: PSP, CPP, PMP
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset
