Our client, a global leader in manufacturing, is seeking a Country Controller to oversee all accounting aspects of the companys operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and local regulations. Reporting to the North American Controller with a dotted line to the Director of Finance.

The Country Controller will oversee financial reporting, ensuring accurate monthly/quarterly/annual statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) under U.S. GAAP, while implementing internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure policy compliance. They will lead the Canadian accounting team, managing AP/AR/GL operations, optimizing month-end close efficiency, and fostering cross-departmental collaboration (operations, IT, HR). Responsibilities include coordinating audits, staying updated on regulatory changes, and ensuring timely tax filings (local/federal). The role demands driving process improvements and system upgrades to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency, alongside advising on cross-border tax strategies.

To qualify for this position, you must possess a CPA designation (Canadian/U.S.) and 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including expertise in public company environments, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance. Demonstrated leadership in mentoring teams, driving process improvements, and managing cross-border tax strategies is critical. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Hyperion Financials, Infor VISUAL) and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, independent work environment is essential.
