ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK / LEGAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Overview:
On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an Administrative Clerk/Legal Administrative Assistant to join the Family Law practice group. This position is a great opportunity for someone new to the legal profession, who wants to nurture their career and work with a vibrant and team-oriented group of people. The successful candidate will ideally have 1+ years of experience working in a corporate environment. We are looking for someone who is technologically savvy and thrives in a fast-paced and rewarding team environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Prepare open matter reports and request/gather all necessary client documentation

• Prepare closed file reports, strip files, organize file materials in boxes

• Print / copy / scan / save documents in document management system

• Prepare and organize family law documents and forms following specific instructions

• Create accordions and binders for pleadings, list of documents, application records, trial records, etc.

• Process outgoing correspondence and sort incoming mail

• Prepare expense reports

• Assist with accounting, billing, and payment tasks

• Perform additional administrative duties as required

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• 1+ years of experience in a clerical or administrative capacity

• Completion, or in the process of, of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program

• A strong orientation to delivering a superior standard of service

• Superior technical skills including proficiency with document management systems, calendar management, Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel

WHAT YOU BRING

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Excellent proof reading, writing, spelling and grammar skills

• Organized with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants

• Proven ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict deadlines as well as the ability to apply critical thinking and take initiative


Salary/Rate Range: The salary range for this role is $56,000 - $60,000 + RRSP + 3 weeks holiday and 12 personal days
