Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Operations Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Consistently offer professional, engaging and proactive resident service while supporting fellow team members to ensure an exceptional resident experience
Coordinate and ensure adequate supplies of linen and terry items for hotel and galley usage
Operate equipment to iron and fold items, towels, sheets, pillow cases, etc.
Inspect cleanliness of articles removed from the washer and dryer, place in clean linen carts
Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard. Treat linen as needed.
Fold cleaned articles into designated size by hand
Ensure that the work area remains clean and neatly organized
Perform daily, weekly and annual cleaning and preventative cleaning on all equipment
Report all damage to linens or clothing to supervisor, caused by machine or chemicals
Follow to Health and Safety regulations
Qualification
Previous experience in HousekeepingLaundry Service preferred
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively with fellow team members, as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on client needs, remaining clam and courteous always
Physical Aspects of Position (includes but are not limited to):
Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
Requires constant repetitive motion
Environmental stress is high, work in extreme conditions, high noise levels and utilize hazardous machinery
Vessel Safety Compliance As a member of the crew, you are required to participate in all safety and security related training, exercises and other duties as assigned by the Master and vessel Management. Your primary role onboard the vessel is the safety and security of your work space, equipment, all persons onboard and the vessel in general.
