SLCS is currently seeking a Full Time Residential Case Worker at Cody Centre. As a member of this interdisciplinary team, in the role of Residential Case Worker, you will assist program participants through collaborative case management to build skills, seek/maintain education and/or employment, connect with community services and supports, follow their correctional plans and requirements, and prepare for independent living through discharge planning. You will additionally provide assessment, crisis prevention and intervention, and support services within this residential program. You will be expected to assess areas of risk and need, particularly in regard to mental health and addiction issues, and provide advocacy for participants involved in the criminal justice system. You will liaise with other services (i.e. parole officers, clinical supports, members of the court system) to coordinate care for participants.
In addition to those elements, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the program participants and other staff during your shift. You will work collaboratively with other team members to complete administrative functions for Cody Centre.
You will be skilled at working with individuals from diverse populations, contributing to program development and evaluation and assisting your team with orientation and training, including for students who may be on placement. Required Qualifications
- University Degree or 2-3 year College Diploma from an accredited institution
- Standard First Aid /CPR with AED Level C
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (preferred)
- Valid G Class Drivers License
- Candidates who are proficient in both official languages of Canada will be considered an asset
